Holy Name of Jesus School builds a continuum of learning that culminates in the development of the whole child. A diversity of programs ensures this holistic child development.

Blended Learning

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) has partnered with Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School to bring a cutting-edge blended learning model to the underserved children in the Los Angeles community of Jefferson Park. The blended learning program will integrate online learning with traditional student-teacher interaction and instruction. Blended learning provides personalized instruction that is supported by successful implementations at other schools.  The program was implemented during the 2015-2016 school year.

Music Education

The music education program covers both theory and application and is taught by professional musicians. Each student learns to play an instrument and read music. Students can also choose to become members of the school choir that is well-known throughout the L.A. Archdiocese and has performed at various community events.

Art Program

Through the Art Trek Program sponsored by the Catholic Education Foundation, students from first through eighth grades learn various aspects of art and art appreciation.

Physical Education Program

The physical education program is elective where students choose from kick boxing, Zumba, modern dance, aerobics, praise dance, skateboarding, basketball, football, volleyball, and soccer.

Extended Day Program

Holy Name of Jesus School also has a before and after school program to facilitate the parents who need to drop off their children before 7:30 a.m. and pick them up after 3:15 p.m. We accept Crystal Stairs for this program.

Hot Lunch and Breakfast Program

Hot Lunch and breakfast is available each school day and eligible parents may apply for free or reduced prices available through the L.A. Archdiocese Meal Program.  We provide dinner and snacks after school for our students.
