Information on Breakfast, Lunches, and Learning Resources

March 18, 2020 by Principal

Los Angeles Unified School District has designated 60 sites for students (and parents) to pick up “grab and go” breakfasts and lunches Monday through Friday. Visit www.lausd.net for a school site close to you. Officials say that children and their parents may pick up meals between 7 – 10 AM.

Los Angeles Public Library is an excellent resource for families. For the next 60 days, you can download books and use any of the tools on the LAPL site. If you don’t have a library card, you can apply for a “virtual” card to use for the next weeks. Visit www.lapl.org for details.

Public television is FREE and has educational programming available for students of all ages. KCLS is the local channel that has programming for students grades TK – 12! Check your provider for the KLCS channel in your area. If you don’t have cable, KLCS can be accessed on line and on YouTube. Visit www. KLCS.org for programming titles and time. This option is not to substitute the assignments your students have, but to supplement. and expose our children to as much enrichment as possible.

After all the learning, get out and get fresh air! Doctors tell us that it’s important to get regular exercise and to maintain healthy habits during stressful times. Take a walk. Go for a run. Work on projects outdoors. Eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water. Maintain regular sleep schedules. Call or Facetime family members. Pray, because prayer really does change things.

Please visit the school website or check your email for messages from the school.

Be Well,
Holy Name of Jesus School
