LMU Blended Learning Program

Loyola Marymount University (LMU) has partnered with Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School to bring a cutting-edge blended learning model to the underserved children in the Los Angeles community of Jefferson Park. The LMU iDEAL Institute (Innovation in Digital Education and Leadership) seeks to foster new and forward thinking ideas in educational technology and its integration into the K-12 classroom for the benefit of students, teachers, and families.

The blended learning program will integrate online learning with traditional student-teacher interaction and instruction. Blended learning provides personalized instruction that is supported by successful implementations at other schools.  The approach allows students to have some control over their pace, path, and place of learning.  LMU hopes to provide these students with access to evolving technology so as to prepare them for high school, college and better career opportunities.

The program was implemented at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school and has delivered successful results.  Please watch the following video to see why students, parents, and teachers at Holy Name of Jesus School are so excited about the program.
